Last weekend was one of those wonderful weekends that was filled with enjoyable activities.  I won’t bore you with details, other than to mention a movie that we saw on Saturday night.  The movie was “Atonement”.  And no, I am not becoming a movie critic.  However, it is a very engaging film and I would encourage you to see it.

I enjoyed the movie on two levels.  One level of enjoyment was for the film and the story itself.  The second level of enjoyment was an insight I took out of the story.  The movie is about a young in man England during the late 1930’s and early 40’s.  The hero obviously is very intelligent, has potential that he hasn’t found a way to actualize.  Then in a ‘blink’ of an eye his life is changed and the result is __.   Guess I shouldn’t spoil the ending.  Suffice it to say in a “blink” of an eye everything changed.

I left the theater with a renewed appreciation for the importance of living the life of my dreams, not some day, but now!   If I don’t do it now, I may miss wonderful moments that won’t come this way again.  That is not to say that there won’t be other magical times that will appear, but I will have missed a special time that could feed my soul for a long time to come.

One of the things I am learning to do is say ‘yes’ to adventures that a few years ago I would have forgone.  Fear based life patterns have caused me to say ‘no’ too often to who I really am.  Not only am I saying ‘yes’ to adventures, I am proactively creating them.  Last weekend was great because I decided to create a weekend full of things I love to do.  In the ‘blink’ of an eye I created the plan for the weekend and then in another ‘blink’ the weekend was over.  The great news is that I had loving and joyful times between the ‘blinks’.

In a ‘blink’ of an eye you can decide to live the life of your dreams.  Are you ready?

  1. Dear Frank,
ur blink is universal and know after we had made ou goal for the new year its joy that make them happen , i belive we are all in attonment with ur blink

  2. Hi Honey,
Of course, I was there for our wonderful weekend and it did go by in a flash. I enjoyed every moment and it has kept me going through the work week!!. Your last statement:” in a blink of an eye, you can decide to live the life of your dreams,” is so powerful and true. It brought me back to the telephone call with a complete stranger who saidl et’s get together for coffee or a glass of wine. My first reaction was oh, no: it’s too late, I have to go to work in the morning, I am not pulled together enough to meet anyone (usually an hour process), oh no, I don’t do spontaneous…I’d rather plan it out, etc., etc. But in a blink of an eye, I was inspired/guided to say yes to Frank Mallinder, instead of no and my life changed at that very moment. More than I could have realized, better than I had ever dreamed of! The hand of the Divine intervened on my behalf, I am sure of that and I was given an amazing gift! I had been praying and visualizing that I would find a partner to spend the rest of my with. Funny, when you know that the rest of your life is very finite, maybe no more than the sum of your fingers and toes…how important it is to live your dreams, NOW! Just as important, we all need to let go of the control stick and hand it over to the Divine. In the blink of an eye, it can change your life in magnificant ways!
I love you, Frank! The answer is always: YES!!

  3. Thanks Nora for taking the time to read the blog and comment. Goals that are propelled by joy create even more joy when they are accomplished. We can each create our own perpetual energy machince.

  4. WARNING – If you don’t like romance, please don’t read the following comment.

Wow Sheleen!! Your story of our first convesation is a perfect example of ‘blink’. I really admire your willingness and ability to step into the unknown, knowing that you are guided. The question is, “How many adventures can we create before we run out of fingers and toes. Between us we have 40.”

Somehow that still doesn’t fell like enough. I love you Sheleen!!!!!!!!!

In case the readers are wondering, we do talk other than on the blog.

  5. Enjoyed reading your blog and look forward to more! I came across my goal statement when we worked together a couple of years ago and realized that not only had I met that goal and others, but that goal turned out to be more than I ever expected — a deep, life-changing experience. Working on some new ones now, of course. Isn’t life exciting — the possibilities are endless! Many thanks, much gratitude. Will be sure to check out the movie.

  6. Hi Alexia! Congratulations on not only reaching your orginial goals, but more as well. I love it when people say that life is excitng. You are very welcome and I hope you enjoy the movie.
